About The Position

As a Maintenance Technician III/IV at our yogurt processing facility, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the uninterrupted operation of our production equipment. You will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks on various machinery and systems to minimize downtime and maintain product quality. Your expertise in production equipment, electrical systems, and air pressure steam will be essential in meeting our production goals efficiently and safely.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; technical certification or vocational training in mechanical or electrical fields is ideal.
  • Proven years of experience as a maintenance mechanic or technician ii-iii in a manufacturing or food processing environment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of production equipment, including conveyors, pumps, mixers, and packaging machinery.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems, including motors, switches, and control panels.
  • Familiarity with pneumatic systems, air pressure controls, and steam generation systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to maintenance emergencies as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine maintenance inspections and service tasks on production equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues and implement effective repair solutions in a timely manner.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks according to schedule to prevent equipment failures and maximize uptime.
  • Maintains the documentation (both electronic and hard copies) for the electrical panels and PLC controls for each process. This would include drawings, diagrams, manuals, installation disks/CD's, and any other pertinent information. Updates any documentation where necessary.
  • Follows a controlled PLC change system that will track changes. Involved with PLC, drive, instrumentation, and electrical installations.
  • Available to assist maintenance with troubleshooting of control
  • Develops and reviews procedures and provides training for others to handle routine PLC control or electrical issues during normal off-hours.
  • Provides off-shift troubleshooting if necessary.
  • Conducts and maintains the necessary contacts for ensuring that PLC controls and equipment are current and that the necessary spare parts are available.
  • Collaborate with production staff to prioritize maintenance activities and minimize disruptions to production schedules.
  • Adhere to facility, quality, and safety policies and procedures to maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment.
  • Document maintenance activities, including repairs, parts usage, and equipment performance, accurately and timely.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery as needed.
