Requirements

  • Ability to become certified Machine Lube Tech 1, Vibration Analyst Level 1, and Ultrasound Analyst Level 1 within a year.
  • Ensures compliance with Company safety rules and wears proper personal protective equipment (PPE) as required in fulfillment of assigned responsibilities
  • Documents work in CMMS, including adding notes to system and requesting work orders for maintenance repairs and activities.
  • Keeps work area clean and free from all safety hazards which requires regular bending and occasional lifting
  • Maintains accurate and timely work orders in computerized maintenance system
  • Drives Company utility vehicles as necessary in order to perform tasks assigned by plant management, which may include but are not limited to: responding to plant or staff emergencies and/or picking up, dropping off or transporting parts, equipment, instruments, supplies and other materials necessary to ensure that the machinery and equipment in the plant remain in good working order
  • Completes tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Superintendent, other plant Superintendents or Shift Leaders
  • Actively participates in Shift/Team activities including complying with best practices, standard operating procedures and development, maintenance and continuous improvement efforts

  • Mechanical modification of systems as directed to facilitate sampling and filtration, and other proactive improvements
  • Practice lubrication practices in accordance with MLT1 (Machine Lubrication Technician Level 1)
  • Use of tools and equipment for routine and non-routine lubrication functions, including PM.
  • Performs oil, lube and filter service on all assigned equipment.
  • Maintains and reviews PM and PdM reports and service reports and discusses action with supervisor and other appropriate personnel.
  • Labeling and tagging reservoirs, equipment, inventory and delivery containers.
  • Inspects equipment conditions (wear, alignment, function, etc) and monitors oil flow and temperature observing gauges to measure performance.
  • Reports plant/equipment conditions to appropriate personnel as required.
  • Schedule, collect, label and mail samples for analysis, and complete required documentation of samples to include notating equipment ID, serial number, current hours, sample location, etc.
  • Housekeeping and proper inventory of lube oil room.
  • Visually analyze samples for irregularities such as color or metal particulates, and/or contamination.
  • Performs basic instrument replacement and basic electrical work
  • Works with plant operations to accomplish all tasks in a timely and safe manner
  • Learns plant process and procedures for plant start-up, shut-down and operations for better understanding of how equipment is utilized
  • Ensures orderly shift change by communicating with outgoing operations staff with respect to maintenance problems or other ongoing issues and/or tasks
  • Communicates with operations personnel to learn of any maintenance problems associated with the previous shift
  • Notifies Maintenance Superintendent of any production, maintenance or safety problems
