About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring that all manufacturing equipment and building systems operate at peak efficiency. They troubleshoot and repair equipment to keep production running safely and producing quality product at target speed. Using their knowledge and experience, they provide insight to improve equipment to deliver better performance.

  • 3+ years’ experience in a maintenance technician role
  • Technical knowledge of motors, conveyors, pumps, valves, pneumatic systems, automated manufacturing equipment, feedback systems
  • Knowledge safeguarding and safety procedures
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Must have own means of transportation to and from work.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of PLC’s and automated equipment considered an asset
  • Skilled Trade Certification considered an asset
  • Ability to read CAD drawings considered an asset
  • Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams considered and asset

Responsibilities

  • Performing daily preventative equipment maintenance
  • Knowledge of pneumatic and Hydraulics.
  • Performing troubleshooting on mechanical issues.
  • Initiating equipment repairs.
  • Performing detailed machine maintenance.
  • Day-to-day coverage of production equipment - respond to breakdowns and production requests quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime.
  • Experience and knowledge of plumbing and welding.
  • Ensure work is performed safely and efficiently.
  • Maintains accurate and timely records of maintenance performed.
  • Comply with all Federal, State, and local laws.
  • Proficient in the use of power and hand tools.
  • Complete work orders and record material utilized on the job.
  • Install, maintain, modify, and repair all electrical distribution systems and associated electrical equipment regarding manufacturing.
  • Remain in compliance with the current National Electrical Code.
  • Inspect and test components of electrical systems, including transformers, transfer switches and switch gears.
  • Complete work orders and record material utilized on the job.
  • Run conduit, pull wires/cables, and wire termination.
  • Run computer cables, connect computer jacks and plugs, and test for adequate operation.
  • Utilize blueprints, wiring diagrams and manufacturer’s installation manuals to complete assigned projects.
  • Survey electrical systems, circuits and plans.
  • Understand and troubleshoot PLC.
  • Shop organization and cleanliness standards were put in place.
