About The Position

Burlington Capital Properties is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join the team at Fairview Cove in Tampa, Florida. We are looking for a dependable, hands-on individual who takes pride in their work and understands the importance of maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable community for our residents. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide responsive, professional service. The position requires participation in an on-call rotation for emergency maintenance needs during evenings and weekends. The on-call schedule will be discussed during the interview process.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • HVAC certification required.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of maintenance experience or experience in a related field required.
  • Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, HVAC, and general building trades required.
  • Ability to troubleshoot maintenance issues and determine appropriate solutions.
  • Ability to work independently while following established procedures and directives.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
  • Ability to interact positively with residents, employees, vendors, and the general public.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform interior and exterior repairs to maintain apartments, common areas, buildings, and grounds according to established procedures.
  • Respond to resident service requests and communicate regularly with the supervisor regarding work order status and completed work.
  • Complete vacant apartments to make-ready status according to established procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and perform repairs involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, appliances, and general building maintenance.
  • Inspect work performed by outside contractors and communicate any concerns to management.
  • Perform and inspect exterior maintenance to help maintain the property's curb appeal.
  • Regularly inspect common areas to ensure proper operation, cleanliness, and overall condition.
  • Follow all applicable federal, state, and local health and safety codes, laws, and standards.
  • Participate in resident functions and community activities as requested by management.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance needs as part of the property's on-call rotation.
  • Assist with other duties and special projects as requested by management.
