About The Position

The Maintenance Technician performs corrective and preventive maintenance on plant equipment, including electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation equipment. The role troubleshoots, analyzes, and repairs equipment failures safely and promptly to reduce production downtime, and performs preventive maintenance to support equipment safety, reliability, and operating time between failures.

The technician assists senior Maintenance Technicians, works with vendors and contractors to resolve difficult plant problems, and contributes to plant safety and continuous improvement activities. The position also supports other departments with daily tasks or assignments as needed. It requires frequent use of stairs and ladders and the ability to safely lift items weighing 55 pounds.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Five years of experience in an industrial maintenance discipline or equivalent, and/or successful completion of a military, industrial, or technical school program.
• Ability to perform work assignments systematically, logically, and expeditiously to solve equipment or system problems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to frequently ascend and descend stairs and ladders.
• Ability to safely lift items weighing 55 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, analyze, and repair plant equipment failures in a timely and safe manner to reduce production downtime.
• Perform corrective maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on plant electrical, instrumentation, and mechanical equipment to support safety and reliability.
• Work with and assist senior Maintenance Technicians with their assigned tasks.
• Participate in Plant Safety and Continuous Improvement Process teams and meetings.
• Lead one safety talk topic each year.
• Work with vendors and contractors to solve difficult plant problems.
• Assist other departments with daily tasks or assignments as needed.
