About The Position

The Maintenance Technician performs machine changeovers and resets various components of Converting Department machines to support our Customers. Additionally, the Set Up Mechanic repairs machines, conducts preventive and proactive maintenance, and maintains records of all the department’s machinery and peripherals. Cartamundi is a multi-million-dollar global manufacturer for many of the world’s most popular playing Card Games, Trading Card Games, Collectible Trading Cards, and Board Game brands in the world!

Requirements

  • Able to read calipers and both SAE and metric measurements.
  • Read technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • At least 1-3 years’ experience in the manufacturing or machine repair environment
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Word and Excel desired; Ability to learn basic SAP as it applies to logging make ready time.
  • Candidates must be 18 years old to work for Cartamundi.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of industrial blade sharpening highly desired, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the company safety officer to ensure all machines meet safety standards.
  • Ensure a safe working environment free from environmental or mechanical hazards.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and regulations; Strictly follow Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
  • Work in close association with the Maintenance Team to ensure continuity and coordination of effort to keep machines running.
  • Keep detailed maintenance records of all associated equipment.
  • Manage the backstock of set-up parts and materials and submit orders when needed.
  • Coordinate with the Maintenance Manager or Supervisor to obtain all necessary repair parts and expendables.
  • Manage the department’s issued tools.
  • Perform machine set up tasks related to card cutter and wrapping operations including set-up and adjustment of feeder, blades, and delivery.
  • Fabricate rails and guides to move items through conveyors or machines.
  • Augment maintenance personnel and fill gaps to keep the machines running.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and housekeeping of work area.
  • Requires personal contact with other employees and company management in a positive, professional manner.
  • Must be able to read SAE and metric measurements and use quality tools to verify quality standards to ensure the setup is correct.
  • Must be able to read basic wiring diagrams and data from technical manuals to apply to the machine and identify the root cause of an issue.
  • Must be able to read calipers and use a torque wrench.
