About The Position

Pyrotek Spokane Valley is seeking Maintenance Technicians. The ideal candidate will have 1 to 6 years of experience in repair and maintenance, with a preference for 4 years in a maintenance/manufacturing specific field, or a relevant technical school/associate degree. This role is responsible for equipment installation and repairs, preventative maintenance, emergency maintenance, and advanced troubleshooting using root cause analysis to support plant operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Maintenance I - plus 1 year experience in repair and maintenance or tech school/associate degree in related field in lieu of experience.
  • Maintenance II - plus three (3) years of experience in repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Maintenance III - plus six (6) years of experience in repair and maintenance field or technical/associates degree and four (4) years of experience in a maintenance related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend facility and equipment drawings as well as the ability to read and comprehend equipment manuals.
  • Knowledge of industrial production equipment.
  • Knowledge and use of various hand tools, multimeter, and precision tools.
  • Trained and certified in forklift/manlift operations.
  • Proficient in the use of torches, plasma cutters, and other power and hand tools.
  • Ability to discuss job related information in one-on-one and small group situations with other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to understand when there is a problem and report it to their supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Ability to respond quickly and competently in emergencies.
  • Basic computer skills required to include Microsoft outlook.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement and discretion in handling of proprietary and confidential information.
  • Strong critical thinking skills, judgment and keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide figures to include fractions and decimals.

  • Occasionally required to climb stairs.
  • Lift or carry up to 25 pounds frequently, and 25 to 75 pounds occasionally.

Nice To Haves

  • Welding experience preferred
  • Tech and associate degree is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license/reliable transportation preferred.
  • Welding experience is a plus.
  • Electrical system knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Clean & apply lubricants to equipment components
  • Replenish fluids for equipment
  • Routine maintenance on forklifts and company vehicle.
  • Inspect equipment & run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues
  • Troubleshoot & repair industrial production equipment along with root cause analysis
  • Perform thorough preventative maintenance on industrial production equipment
  • Provide effective assistance with equipment installations.
  • Assist Operations Manager in inventory management of critical spare parts.
  • Engage effectively and efficiently with vendors for parts quotes.
  • Assist, support and train other maintenance technicians on complex maintenance issues.
  • Act as a point of contact for maintenance team members to identify constraints and facilitate communication between production and engineering to quickly react and respond to machine issues or other factors impacting production.
