Maintenance Technician/Painter (3pm-11pm shift)
About The Position
The Maintenance Technician at The Newbury of Brookline is responsible for maintaining the community by repairing and caring for buildings, grounds, and support equipment. The role diagnoses and repairs issues across a range of systems and facilities, completes assigned service requests, and performs turn-key work so vacant apartments are rent-ready in a timely manner. The technician may also help organize and prioritize service requests and general maintenance work, and may supervise other associates and outside contractors. This is a full-time position on a 3pm–11pm shift, with availability to work one weekend day. Indoor and outdoor painting experience is preferred. Pay is $25.50–$26 per hour, with a $400 sign-on bonus. Employment offers are subject to successfully passing a drug screen, TB test, and background check.
Requirements
- Be a great team player.
- One year of experience in property management maintenance.
- Ability to frequently use general maintenance tools, supplies, and equipment.
- Ability to frequently handle and use chemicals and general cleaning supplies.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen, TB test, and background check.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
- Indoor and outdoor painting experience preferred.
- Technical training or HVAC certification is desirable.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair problems involving HVAC, electrical, plumbing, major appliances, carpentry, emergency systems, flooring, hardware and accessories, masonry, painting and wallpaper, water features such as pools and spas, and waste management systems.
- Complete assigned service requests.
- Perform turn-key work to make vacant apartment homes rent-ready in a timely manner.
- Assist with organizing and prioritizing service requests and general maintenance tasks.
- May supervise the work of other associates and outside contractors.
