About The Position

The Maintenance Technician/Painter at The Newbury of Brookline is responsible for maintaining the community by repairing and maintaining buildings, grounds, and support equipment. The role is full-time, works the 3pm–11pm shift, and requires availability for one weekend day. Indoor and outdoor painting experience is preferred. The technician diagnoses and repairs issues across a range of systems and areas, completes assigned service requests, and performs turn-key work so vacant apartments are ready for occupancy in a timely manner. The role may also involve organizing and prioritizing maintenance work and supervising other associates or outside contractors. The position pays $25.50–$26 per hour and offers a $400 sign-on bonus. Employment offers are subject to successfully passing a drug screen, TB test, and background check.

Requirements

Be a great team player.
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
One year of experience in property management maintenance.
Able to frequently use general maintenance tools, supplies, and equipment.
Able to frequently handle and use chemicals and general cleaning supplies.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Must successfully pass a drug screen, TB test, and background check as part of the pre-employment process.

Nice To Haves

Indoor and outdoor painting experience.
Technical training or HVAC certification is desirable.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair problems involving HVAC, electrical, plumbing, major appliances, carpentry, emergency systems, flooring, hardware and accessories, masonry, painting and wallpaper, water features such as pools and spas, and waste management systems.
Complete assigned service requests.
Perform turn-key work to ensure vacant apartment homes are rent-ready in a timely manner.
Assist with organizing and prioritizing service requests and general maintenance tasks.
May supervise the work of other associates and outside contractors.
