About The Position

Our Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing electrical systems, equipment and components. They work closely with engineers and maintenance staff to ensure the reliability and safety of electrical systems. Must have multi-craft experience with strong electrical knowledge. Expected to assist with problem solutions and training. Applicants need to be highly motivated and self-directed working with minimum supervision.

Requirements

  • Installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical components of industrial equipment and facility.
  • Working as a team member or alone to complete Maintenance projects.
  • Observing safety procedures and meeting National and State electrical codes.
  • Making decisions based on technical documents.
  • Performing quality testing and inspections.
  • Awareness of national, state, and local electrical codes and regulations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Motivated self-starter who can manage projects and make decisions.
  • Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and other technical documents.
  • Must have knowledge of electrical systems, hand tools, and industrial equipment.
  • Must be willing to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, crawling, etc.
  • Journeyman's or Master Electrician's License, and/or associate degree (two-year college or technical school) and/or combined education and equivalent work experience.
  • 5 years of electrical/controls experience.
  • Computer skills: Must possess basic PC skills (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • PLC experience, knowledgeable in programming controllers.
  • Certificates & licenses: Specific licenses required, electrical safe practices or Arc Flash certificate, mechanical, valid driver's license, ability to pass Hayward's forklift certification.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit and reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment and parts, such as control panels.
  • Work with circuit breaker panels, Buss rail feed systems, Buss plugs, disconnect panels, running conduit and sizing conductor and fuses necessary to power plant equipment.
  • Diagnose electrical problems with production equipment working with fuses, electrical feed sources and control wiring.
  • Communicate with OEM equipment tech support of equipment problems to request technical assistance.
  • Complete electrical installations from 120-460 volts; troubleshoot electrical circuits.
