About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and lubricating all machinery, safeguarding company property, and ensuring all equipment operates at an optimal level. This role involves performing assigned tasks under the direction of the Maintenance Team Leader and Plant Manager, adhering to safety and environmental regulations, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret manufacturing specifications.
  • Proficient in both electrical and mechanical knowledge and abilities.
  • Knowledge of Computerized Management Systems (i.e SAP or Maximo).
  • Basic Computer Skills (Microsoft office, email, etc.)
  • Ability to cover other shifts as needed (Due to PTO or Leave).
  • Forklift license required.
  • Ability to operate scissors and two-man lift.
  • Ability to stand 8 hours per day.
  • Ability to sit, stoop, walk, talk, read and write.
  • Must have agility to maneuver up and down stairs, ladders and in other challenging areas.
  • The employee must have good eye-hand coordination.
  • The employee must be able to occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years experience and technical knowledge in areas of electrical and mechanical maintenance of equipment or military experience in a technical field or Associated Degree in a technical field.
  • Two to 5 years industrial maintenance.
  • Pumping system and Conveyor system maintenance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of electricity, mechanics, hydraulics, and/or pneumatics in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience changing out bearing and motors.
  • PLC and automated systems education and/or experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform safe and efficient machine and daily procedures.
  • Maintain cooling water systems to mills, Bunbury's and other machinery in the plant.
  • Inspect and maintain air compressors.
  • Ensure all lockout/tagout procedures are being followed properly when working on equipment.
  • Maintain a clean work area to reduce safety hazards.
  • Remain on call for emergencies.
  • Support operators by providing training.
  • Complete preventative maintenance work orders and reactive maintenance repair logs.
  • Create improvement proposals and execute tasks resulting from improvement proposals.
  • Complete administrative tasks as needed.
  • Participate in problem analysis, identification of root causes, and suitable permanent solutions.
  • Work with outside contractors as needed and ensure they follow the proper sign-in and out procedures.
  • Ensure a Job Safety Analysis (JSA) is completed when needed by outside contractors.
  • Add chemicals to water in pump house as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain company safety, housekeeping and environmental standards.
  • Apply the RMA 7S for Success standards to work area and all tasks.
  • Uphold the RMA Code of Conduct standards.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager and Plant Manager.
