About The Position

As a Maintenance Engineer (Technician), you will play an important role in helping maintain safe, comfortable, and welcoming environments for the people we serve while working alongside a team that values compassion, collaboration, and quality support. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring our buildings, grounds, and properties are consistently maintained to the highest standards. This position is responsible for coordinating and performing a wide range of maintenance services to keep all facilities safe, functional, and in excellent condition. In this role, you will oversee and complete maintenance, repair, and remodeling work related to electrical systems, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and painting. You will also work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor to coordinate outside contractors when specialized repairs or additional support are needed. Success in this position requires strong time management, organization, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines across several locations. Maintenance Engineers can expect to travel between 2–4 sites per day. When personal vehicles are used for work-related travel, mileage reimbursement will be provided in accordance with current federal reimbursement guidelines.

Requirements

  • At least two years of building maintenance experience, including heating, plumbing, electrical, and general repair
  • High school diploma required
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to evaluate cost-effectiveness and implement preventative maintenance measures
  • Strong decision-making and communication skills
  • Responsible, mature, flexible, and able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be comfortable working with individuals living in our group homes with various disabilities.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand/walk for extended periods throughout the day

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications in maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or related areas
  • Experience with drywall repair
  • Carpentry skills

Responsibilities
