About The Position

US Farathane is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems in commercial or industrial establishments. This role requires the technician to be on 24-hour call and maintain rigid safety standards. The technician will work on projects with all plant departments, perform assigned work in a reasonable and timely fashion, and keep their work area, tools, and maintenance supplies clean and organized. Responsibilities include maintaining equipment to top working conditions, ordering and following up on repair parts, completing required paperwork (e.g., PM documents), and performing daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance. The technician must understand the sequence of operation on presses, recommend machine repairs, issue work orders, and follow up. They will troubleshoot plastic injection molding machines and support equipment (granulators, thermolators, material dryers, D.M.E.’s), as well as secondary and auxiliary equipment, including replacing sensors to maintain daily production. This includes disassembling, measuring, and installing barrels, screws, tip assemblies, heater bands, and complete injection units. The role involves determining the priority of daily work, managing inventory control for best pricing, entering POs in the system upon approval, and developing opportunities to reduce future costs or improve efficiency. The technician will perform all necessary work for the safe and overall efficiency of the plant and its employees, and collaborate with others to complete tasks. They must be able to stay after scheduled work hours or come in on a 24-hour call-in basis, report and/or initiate corrective action for unsafe conditions immediately, and continue training as required. Hi-lo drivers must maintain safe driving speeds, be aware of surroundings, and stop at all cross aisles. In the event of a vacancy, the Maintenance Manager will resume responsibilities. Environmental responsibilities may include functioning as a member of the environmental response action team, fire brigade, and first responder with specialized training. The role also involves providing OJT to personnel where appropriate.

Associate’s degree (A.A) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or manager, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Word processing, spread sheet and data analysis, Windows, PLC programming software.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instruction in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Industrial maintenance
Hi-Lo license required
Crane and rigging training required

Responsibilities

Maintain rigid safety standards as it relates to plant operation.
Work on projects with all other plant departments.
Perform work on equipment and projects as assigned in a reasonable and timely fashion.
Keep work area, tools, and maintenance supplies in a clean and acceptable condition at all times.
Replace lamps as needed.
Repair and maintain bathroom facilities.
Keep parking lot and walkway clean and clear of debris.
Maintain all equipment to top level working conditions.
Order and follow up of repair parts to maintain inventory levels.
Be able to do paperwork that is required on the job: PM documents etc.
Be able to do daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance.
Know the sequence of operation on presses.
Recommend machine repairs, issue work orders and do follow up.
Be able to trouble shoot plastic injection molding machines and support equipment such as granulators, thermolators, material dryers and D.M.E.’s.
Must be able to trouble shoot secondary & auxiliary equipment, replacing sensors etc. as need to maintain daily production.
Must be able to disassemble, measure & install barrels, screws, tip assemblies, Heater bands etc. to include the complete injection unit.
Be able to determine priority of daily work as it occurs.
Inventory Control – Best price on items and enter PO in system once approved by Direct Manager and/or General Manager.
Develop opportunities to reduce future cost and/or improve efficiency.
Do all work deemed as necessary for the safe and overall efficiency of the plant and its employees.
Be able to work together with others to complete a task.
Be able to stay after scheduled work hours or come in on a twenty-four-hour call in basis.
Report and/or initiate corrective action for any unsafe conditions immediately.
Continue training as required.
All hi lo drivers must maintain safe driving speeds, have an acute awareness of all surroundings, stop at all cross aisles.
May be required to function as a member of the environmental response action team, Fire brigade and First responder with specialized training as listed in the tracking system.
Provide OJT to personnel where appropriate.
