About The Position

This position is for a Maintenance Technician in Willis, TX. The role involves performing routine maintenance tasks and being available for unscheduled call-outs. The specific title will be determined based on the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, potentially including Maintenance Operator, Maintenance Operator 1, 2, 3, 4, Journeyman Maint. Operator, or Mechanical Technician. This is a Safety Sensitive position and requires mandatory pre-employment and random drug testing. The job is designated as 'On-Site'.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • Maintenance Operator II: 0-2 years’ experience in operations or similar field or entry level with a background in process technology or instrumentation.
  • Maintenance Operator III: 2-3 years’ experience in operations or similar field.
  • Maintenance Operator: 3 years’ experience in operations or similar field.
  • Mechanical Technician: 5 years power plant operations and/or maintenance experience.
  • Journeyman level Machinist/Millwright is primary skill (minimum 5 years, desired 10 years).
  • Understanding of the principles of mechanical/electronic tools, instruments, controls, measuring devices, gauges, mechanical equipment, and piping systems.
  • Familiar with the principles of operation of steam boilers, turbine-generators, motors, pumps, heaters, water chemistry equipment and simple loop controls.
  • Understand written & verbal communications, basic writing skills.
  • Understand & operate a personal computer.
  • Successful completion of the EEI POSS/MASS test.

Nice To Haves

  • 10 years of experience as a Journeyman Machinist/Millwright.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks.
  • Be available for unscheduled call outs.
  • Operate machine tool equipment, including a Bridgeport and lathe.
  • Perform large and small equipment alignment.
  • Perform welding and other multi-skill activities.
  • Provide contractor management, quality control, cost management, and schedule management during unit outages.
  • Perform minor electrical, instrument, and controls work/inspection/repair.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and diagnose equipment problems.
  • Apply understanding of power plant systems, starting & stopping equipment, isolating & restoring equipment for maintenance, and monitoring turbine generators and large pumps.
  • Ensure safety standards and practices are adhered to in accordance with Corporate, Environmental, Plant & OSHA policies, procedures & regulations.
