About The Position

The Maintenance Technician I is an entry level helper with some technical schooling completed or minimum experience in maintenance. They help assist Level II and III technicians in equipment installations, repairs, or modifications related to the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy within the manufacturing facility. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or recognized equivalent.
  • Minimum of (2) two years related work experience in a maintenance mechanic function, or equivalent related experience.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in resolving unexpected events and circumstance.

  • Testing equipment
  • Ability to read different measuring devices (i.e. tape measure, protractor, micrometer).
  • Must be able to read blueprints and electrical schematics
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Understands and follows all safety rules and precautions necessary for working in and around a manufacturing environment.
  • Assists with repairing and installing various electrical equipment including generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, and conduit systems. Works with blueprints drawings, layouts, verbal instructions and other specifications.
  • Uses various welding equipment (arc, acetylene, brazing, flame cutting) for lay out and fitting, including making jigs and fixtures.
  • Diagnoses and corrects trouble in the electrical system or equipment, applying standard computations related to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
  • Performs visual and mechanical inspections to confirm machinery is in good condition, ensuring the production of finished quality products according to order specifications.
  • Follows the preventive maintenance program as established by the company and conducts equipment inspections, taking preventive action when necessary.
  • Maintains buildings, performing minor repairs.
  • Notifies management regarding the need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.
  • Contributes to continuous improvement efforts in work area.
  • May be assigned additional projects or duties as designated by Team Leader.
  • Must be able to work with CMMS-Computerized Maintenance Management System
