About The Position

This is skilled work involving the installation, maintenance, and repair of facilities, buildings, equipment, and fixtures. Employees in this position perform a variety of skilled maintenance and repair tasks in designated trade areas. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Plant Services Manager.

Requirements

  • Valid Montana Driver's License required.
  • Willingness and ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to successfully perform all essential job functions.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One year of related work experience or training preferred; or An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience totaling at least one year.
  • Knowledge of building maintenance practices, tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair facility and equipment issues.
  • Ability to read and follow technical instructions and safety procedures.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safety, customer service, and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize appropriate tools and equipment to operate, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair hospital buildings, utility systems, and related equipment.
  • Monitor, interpret, and respond to information provided by the Building Energy Management System.
  • Demonstrate intermediate-level skills in at least one building trade, including Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, HVAC, or Cabinetry.
  • Maintain accurate and complete work records.
  • Provide excellent customer service while interacting with patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Recognize occupational hazards and follow appropriate safety procedures and precautions.
  • Remove snow and ice from parking lots, sidewalks, entrances, and other access areas.
  • Set up and tear down rooms and facilities for meetings, events, and special functions.
  • Pick up and deliver equipment as needed for homebound patients.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to maintenance emergencies as scheduled.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
