About The Position

This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of experience in janitorial or maintenance, with knowledge of chemicals, their reactions, and the safe and proper use of cleaning supplies and equipment. Preferred experience includes three or more years of related experience and/or training. The position involves maintaining safe and sanitized conditions in agency buildings and equipment, operating maintenance equipment, and reporting any malfunctions. The role also requires participation in meetings, implementing safety protocols, and working evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to professional and ethical standards are crucial. Responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing buildings and equipment, reporting unsafe conditions, meeting deadlines, traversing the campus, and moving equipment up to 100 pounds. The role also involves supporting, encouraging, and recruiting foster parents. Requirements include passing pre-employment drug screens and criminal background checks, providing proof of work eligibility, and demonstrating various abilities such as responding sensitively to cultural and socio-economic characteristics, working collaboratively, maintaining knowledge of equipment, achieving high standards of cleanliness, analyzing documents, working in a fast-paced environment with emotional control, maintaining computer literacy, organizing work, and working independently or as part of a team. A working knowledge of Compass Connections policies and procedures is also required. Compass Connections requires all employees to receive an annual Influenza vaccination or obtain an approved exemption, which is a condition of employment.

Requirements

  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens throughout employment.

  • Fluent in English and Spanish
  • High school diploma, or equivalent
  • First aid, CPR, Emergency behavior intervention certifications
  • Two (2) plus years of experience in janitorial or maintenance and knowledge of chemicals and reactions, and safe and proper use of cleaning supplies and equipment

Responsibilities

  • Meet all federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards that are applicable to this position.
  • Maintain safe and sanitized conditions in the agency buildings and equipment that meet or exceed all licensing and policy requirements
  • Operate maintenance equipment and report any malfunctioning equipment immediately.
  • Participate in scheduled meetings, team decisions and operations.
  • Implement Compass Connections safety protocols including evacuating with children and other staff in case of an emergency.
  • Work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed and as requested by the supervisor.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all areas of the child and program operations.
  • Maintain Compass Connections professional and ethical standards of conduct outlined in Compass Connections employee handbook including demonstrating respect for agency staff, children, and community members and complying with required dress code at all times.
  • Clean, sanitize and maintain buildings and equipment in accordance with agency policies and procedures and applicable local, state and federal rules and regulations.
  • Report all unsafe conditions to supervisory staff and suggest possible solutions to hazards.
  • Meet all pre-determined deadlines required by program and federal partners.
  • Frequently traverse from one area of the campus to another.
  • Frequently move equipment weighing up to 100 pounds from one area of the campus to another.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Foster Care Programs - Support, encourage, and recruit foster parents.
