About The Position

1st Lake Properties is seeking a Maintenance Technician at Boardwalk Apartments in Metairie, Louisiana. The role helps provide residents with safe, comfortable, and well-maintained homes through repairs, routine maintenance, apartment make-readies, and responsive service. The position offers a $750 sign-on bonus, competitive hourly pay, monthly bonus opportunities based on occupancy, education and training, paid time off, a benefits package, and employee rental discounts at 1st Lake communities.

Requirements

Previous experience as a Maintenance Technician or in a similar position.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting.
Working knowledge of plumbing, appliances, and general apartment maintenance.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Dependable, team-oriented attitude and strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to lift, stand, bend, climb, and perform physical maintenance tasks.
Reliable transportation and personal basic tools.
Ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot problems and identify effective repair solutions.
Perform routine maintenance for residents, including electrical, plumbing, and appliance repairs.
Prepare vacant apartments for new resident move-ins.
Work safely and comply with company safety standards.
Keep accurate records of maintenance work and service requests.
Respond promptly and professionally to resident maintenance requests.
Provide exceptional customer service and contribute to a positive resident experience.
