About The Position

SoftLite Windows & Doors, is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to support our high-volume manufacturing operations in Streetsboro, Ohio. This is an on-site, full time position. This role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing complex manufacturing equipment to ensure maximum uptime, safety, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate brings advanced electronic, mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting expertise and thrives in a fast-paced production environment where precision, reliability, and proactive problem solving are critical. This is a hands-on technical role requiring strong diagnostic capabilities, the ability to work independently as well as with a team, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Requirements

  • 5+ years maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, or in field set-up and/or service of computer-controlled equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of: Computer/PLC troubleshooting, Industrial electronic systems, Pneumatic systems, Mechanical systems and machine repair
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical diagrams
  • Experience troubleshooting automated manufacturing equipment
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team within a fast-paced production environment
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CMMS maintenance systems

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues on manufacturing equipment.
  • Trouble-shoot PC/PLC controlled equipment, sensors, drives, and automated systems.
  • Utilize schematics and technical documentation to identify root causes of failures.
  • Respond quickly to production downtime to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Communicate with OEM technical support to speed up equipment repair.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment including welders, cutting systems, conveyors, and automated assembly equipment.
  • Identify early signs of equipment wear and proactively address potential failures.
  • Develop PM procedures and schedules for critical machinery.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance records and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Ensure equipment repairs meet safety and operational standards.
  • Support lockout/tagout procedures and safe maintenance practices.
  • Partner with production supervisors, engineers, and leadership to resolve equipment challenges.
  • Contribute ideas that enhance safety, reliability, and operational excellence.
