About The Position

The Westover Companies is a family-owned and operated property management company with over fifty years of experience providing quality living, shopping, and working spaces. We are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for our apartment community in Middle River, MD. This role supports one or multiple apartment properties by maintaining routine service requests and preventative maintenance. The ideal candidate will complete this work safely and timely, providing superior customer service to our residents.

Requirements

Demonstrate the appropriate and safe use of standard hand and power tools.
Ability to lift and move heavy items (water heaters, appliances, rock salt, etc.).
Ability to shovel and salt as required.
Perform routine, preventative maintenance.
Knowledge and practice of a variety of building trade skills.
Ability to work on step/extension ladders and roofs while following safety protocols.
Able and willing to lift objects as required.
Ability to work an on-call schedule as required.
Reliable work ethic and dependable transportation; must maintain valid driver’s license and working vehicle.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance tasks, service requests, turnovers, preventative maintenance to units and common areas as well as any other duties assigned.
Share on-call responsibility.
Diagnose and repair HVAC, electrical, and plumbing related issues.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Attend in-house training as required.
Maintain current preventative maintenance property logs.
Keep track of inventory and maintain a clean and stocked shop.
Complete work orders in a timely manner.
Identify safety and hazardous conditions and communicate any issues.
Follow company operational and safety procedures.
Exhibit strong commitment to the service needs of the internal and external customer.
Communicate and work well with both leasing and maintenance staff members.
Always represent the company in a professional and courteous manner.
