About The Position

Responsible for performing preventive and repair maintenance work on production machinery to ensure the continuous production of high-quality film while maintaining all safety work standards. This role requires a multi-craft technician focused on continuous improvement in safety, quality, and production. The technician will be expected to work safely, follow all work instructions and safety rules, and be available for on-call rotations, overtime with little notice, and project assignments. The role also involves assisting with breakdowns and repairs, installing equipment and utilities, and adhering to inventory control guidelines. Training fellow team members and completing electrical safety training are also key aspects of the position.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of electricity and electrical troubleshooting, including single and three-phase applications.
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards and NEC guidelines in compliance with NFPA 70.
  • Working knowledge of all plant production equipment.
  • Ability to read and troubleshoot using electrical and mechanical schematics.
  • Working knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC programming protocols, including software for ControlLogix 5000, SLC 500, and PLC 5 programmable controllers.
  • Working knowledge of drive systems and drive system software.
  • Knowledge of AC and DC motor systems, including VFD control and troubleshooting.
  • Above-average knowledge of mechanical systems, including gearbox maintenance, vibration analysis, thermal imaging, and motor/gearbox/pulley alignment standards.
  • Practical and working knowledge of all utility systems, including chilled water, compressed air, nitrogen generation, and electrical supply switchgears.
  • Ability to read and write in English.
  • Industrial Maintenance Certificate or Technical School degree.
  • Minimum 5 years proven job experience.
  • Knowledge & Understanding of Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
  • Proficient in computer knowledge such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and repair maintenance work on production machinery.
  • Ensure all production equipment is in safe working order.
  • Work safely using required PPE.
  • Follow all work instructions, safety rules, and policies.
  • Act as an "on call" technician in a rotation.
  • Work overtime with little or no notice depending on machine unplanned events.
  • Assist in breakdowns and repairs including pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical applications.
  • Work on advanced technical applications.
  • Install equipment and any utilities needed for equipment, including conduit bending and wire pulling.
  • Work on projects assigned by the Plant Maintenance Manager.
  • Show initiative to start tasks without being told.
  • Follow all inventory control guidelines and inventory management procedures.
  • Train fellow team members.
  • Complete electrical safety training New Hire Checklist (FCD-00382).
