About The Position

The Maintenance Technician, Selmer Lubricants safely installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains production and facility equipment at the Selmer Lubricants Plant. The technician utilizes safety procedures along with predictive and preventative maintenance systems and process to support the site in achieving business objectives. This position requires the successful completion of an online assessment. Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Willing and able, with or without reasonable accommodation to lift/raise/transport up to 50 lbs, bend, stoop, perform moderate manual labor, work inside confined spaces, climb, and work at various levels above ground
  • Prior experience operating fork lifts
  • Prior experience operating scissor lifts

Nice To Haves

  • Prior maintenance experience in a manufacturing, terminal, or industrial plant environment
  • Prior experience maintaining high-speed packaging, blending, or material handling equipment in lubricants, chemicals, or similar industries
  • Mechanical troubleshooting and repair
  • Basic piping and welding
  • Basic electrical and instrumentation (low-voltage, controls troubleshooting)
  • Boiler operations
  • PLC troubleshooting (basic to advanced, depending on experience level)

Responsibilities

  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
  • Perform a broad variety of tasks to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
  • Perform simple machinist tasks
  • Perform mechanic tasks including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and/or hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities
  • Perform basic plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties
  • Develop and utilize a basic understanding of programmable controllers motor drives and controls
