About The Position

South Mountain Creamery is a dairy farm family that bottles its own milk and makes its own butter, yogurt, and ice cream. They have been making home deliveries to the DMV area for 24 years and are the largest and most efficient home delivery business in the area. They are currently hiring for a Maintenance Technician at the South Mountain Creamery location in Chambersburg, PA. The Maintenance Team is vital to keeping the operations running smoothly from the farm to production to the stores. This position reports to the Site Manager. The initial training hours will be Monday-Friday, 7 am-3 pm. After training, the hours will be overnight, Midnight - 8:30 am, with flexibility for management to request earlier or later times. The work is performed in a warehouse and refrigerated settings, requiring the ability to work in a fast-paced environment safely and efficiently. The position requires lifting approximately 50lbs from ground level to waist-high using proper lifting techniques, bending, and climbing ladders. Candidates should be quick learners, accurate troubleshooters, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

General building maintenance experience (i.e., electrical, plumbing, boiler, refrigeration, machinery, and carpentry)
Mechanical aptitude is a must
Capacity to troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating issues that may arise
A High School Diploma or equivalent
The motivation to work in a team environment
A detail-oriented mindset

Responsibilities

Machine maintenance at the facility
Machines include bottle washers, refrigeration units, and more
Repairing and replacing air hoses/compressors
General preventative maintenance such as changing O-rings, gaskets, and oil filters
Verify machinery is in proper working condition
