About The Position

This is a DoD SkillBridge internship opportunity designed for eligible candidates in the last 180 days of active military service. The program aims to provide interns with the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to transition into a full-time Maintenance Technician I role at Lineage. The training program will introduce interns to Lineage's people, processes, and culture, while also allowing them to demonstrate their skills. The objective is to offer full-time employment to interns who meet training objectives and receive positive performance appraisals, though an offer is not guaranteed. The role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery, equipment, physical structures, plumbing, and electrical systems in compliance with safety standards and company policies. As an entry-level position, comprehensive training will be provided.

Requirements

  • Must be eligible to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program in accordance with DODI 1322.29.
  • Completion of trade school courses or minimal experience in building maintenance, material handling equipment maintenance, or refrigeration maintenance (ammonia, Freon, and/or CO2) is preferred.
  • Capable of completing routine preventative maintenance with instructions and supervision.
  • Fully proficient with, and capable of operating power and hand tools.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of the facility.
  • Possess problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload with demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in temperatures as low as -20 Fahrenheit/-25 Celsius in cold storage sites or up to 100 Fahrenheit/37 Celsius in dry storage sites while wearing company-provided personal protective equipment and freezer gear.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs./23 kgs.; weight may be more dependent upon facility.
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule and shift, including weekends if needed.
  • Some locations require being comfortable with various noise levels, at times, can be loud.
  • Some locations require demonstrated knowledge and practice of Working at Height.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic preventative maintenance tasks and minor repairs on mechanical assets, facility structures, and exterior grounds under supervision.
  • At automated sites, perform basic preventative maintenance on proximity switches, photoelectric sensors, pressure switches, push buttons, and associated testing equipment under supervision.
  • Perform basic inspections of refrigeration systems under supervision.
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance tasks on material handling equipment according to manufacturer and company guidelines under supervision.
  • Operate power tools, cutting torch, and welding apparatus to cut or join metal parts.
  • Utilize onsite motorized lift and rental equipment as needed for operation, inspection, calibration, and maintenance.
