About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of equipment and facilities, minimizing downtime, and maintaining a safe and productive work environment. This role involves ensuring maintenance resources are assigned to breakdowns and other equipment issues, communicating with relevant personnel regarding issues, and ensuring Maintenance Work Orders are addressed when resources are available. The technician will provide guidance, direction, and leadership to ensure efficient and effective team performance, and will be responsible for communicating concerns and issues with resources, equipment, and projects. Additionally, the role includes leading special projects, equipment removals, and relocations when assigned, and working with the Plant Engineer and/or Maintenance Team Leader to ensure adequate maintenance coverage on all shifts. Collaboration with the Maintenance Supply specialist to ensure spare parts availability, ordering, and communication of supply status concerns to direct reports is also a key function. The technician will work on breakdowns and work orders, and handle complex troubleshooting and repair tasks, especially for critical equipment or systems. Performing condition assessments to determine the need for repairs or replacements is also part of the responsibilities.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of maintenance experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to wear safety shoes, safety glasses and earplugs while in manufacturing area
  • The ability to move freely around the workplace, including walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing stairs or ladders as necessary to conduct safety inspections and address safety concerns in various areas of the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures Maintenance resources are assigned to breakdowns and other equipment issues.
  • Communicates with PFs, PTLs and CI regarding issues.
  • Ensures Maintenance Work Orders are being addressed when resources are available.
  • Provide guidance, direction, and leadership to ensure that the team performs their duties efficiently and effectively.
