About The Position
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general repair, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of facility systems, buildings, equipment, and machinery. This role supports safe and efficient operations by maintaining electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and structural systems while ensuring compliance with company safety standards and operational procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of maintenance, facilities, or skilled trades experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of: Electrical systems, Plumbing systems, HVAC systems, Carpentry and general building maintenance, Mechanical repair and preventative maintenance.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance machinery.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Nice To Haves
- Welding, machining, or fabrication experience is a plus.
- Heavy equipment operation experience preferred where applicable.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on facility systems and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and structural issues.
- Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and extend asset life.
- Repair and maintain building systems including doors, walls, flooring, lighting, and fixtures.
- Operate and maintain tools, machinery, and maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
- Assist with welding, fabrication, machining, and mechanical repairs as needed.
- Operate heavy equipment and powered industrial equipment when required and authorized.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests in a timely manner.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, schematics, and work orders.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspections, and repair documentation.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and safety procedures.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and other departments to complete maintenance projects.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas and maintenance shops.
