About The Position

A Maintenance Technician – Mechanical is responsible for performing preventative maintenance on production lines to ensure efficient operation and minimal downtime. This role also includes maintaining inventory of tools and supplies, while assisting with various maintenance duties throughout the facility to support safe and reliable operations.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED Required.
  • 3-5 Years Relevant experience Required.
  • Usage of basic hand tools (drills, wrenches, etc.) Required
  • Familiarity with computers. Ability to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written English with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to comprehend and converse in English to communicate effectively with staff and customers.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational or Technical training in Mechanical Engineering Preferred.
  • Overhead Crane Certification Preferred.
  • OSHA 10/OSHA 30 Preferred.
  • Forklift Certification Preferred.
  • Knowledge with Slitter related lines or Blanking related lines Preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and check production lines daily.
  • Repair or replace defective equipment and components using hand tools, power tools, and testing devices.
  • Diagnose root causes of machine downtime with accuracy.
  • Consult with production team members for troubleshooting issues and approve troubleshooting completion done by production team members.
  • Contribute to the development of maintenance standards to ensure clear and consistent standards.
  • Assist the maintenance team with facility projects and other related duties.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and program instructions to accurately perform installation and repair tasks.
  • Comply with all safety standards, company policies, and applicable manufacturing codes to ensure a safe and legally compliant work environment.
  • Document all mechanical maintenance and repair activities, including parts used, time spent, downtime, and work performed, in compliance with company procedures.
  • Assist production lines as needed, which can include forklift or usage of an overhead crane.
