About The Position

The Maintenance Technician will perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment. This role involves providing emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performing scheduled maintenance repairs during machine service. The technician will also perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair. Reading and interpreting equipment manuals and work orders is essential, as is diagnosing problems, replacing or repairing parts, and testing and adjusting equipment. Regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities is a key responsibility, along with performing plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions. The role requires the use of various hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment. Additionally, the technician must detect faulty operations and defective material, report unusual situations, maintain clean work areas, and adhere to all FDA & GMP’s regulatory requirements and guidelines, as well as all Plant Safety Rules and OSHA Rules.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED equivalent (preferred)
  • Completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience
  • 4+ years of manufacturing experience strongly preferred
  • Strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills
  • Some PLC experience and HVAC
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to read, speak and write in English
  • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) plant safety and OSHA requirements
  • Proven success with working in a team environment

Responsibilities

  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment

  • Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities
  • Perform mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
  • Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and adjust
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities
  • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision
  • Maintain clean and orderly work areas
  • Responsible for always following all FDA & GMP’s regulatory requirements and guidelines
  • Responsible for following ALL Plant Safety Rules and OSHA Rules: understand and follow plant safety rules including/but not limited to safe lifting practices, safety on machine operations
  • Other duties as assigned
