About The Position
The Fremont Company is seeking a Maintenance Technician for their 2nd Shift operations. This role is crucial for ensuring the continuous operation of production machinery in their Rockford facility, which manufactures food products like ketchup, BBQ sauce, and sauerkraut. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing mechanical failures, performing preventive maintenance, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the production line. Requirements
- Mechanical aptitude

- Comfortable with hand tools, power tools, and standard maintenance equipment
- Strong troubleshooting instincts
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently on 2nd Shift
Nice To Haves
- Mechanical background in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics a plus
- Experience in food manufacturing a bonus, not a requirement
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical failures on production equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance to keep downtime to a minimum
- Diagnose issues quickly and get the line back up and running
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work performed
- Identify recurring problems and help develop lasting fixes
- Support installation and startup of new or modified equipment
- Keep your work area and tools clean, organized, and safe
