About The Position

The multi-craft maintenance technician is responsible for safely performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment to support the achievement of Copperweld’s business goals and objectives.

Requirements

Adherence to Copperweld Core Values
Two (2) year technical degree in Maintenance Mechanics or Industrial Maintenance Technology
Three (3) or more years of experience as an Industrial Electrician and/or Maintenance Mechanic preferred
Continued growth of technical knowledge, skills, and proficiency required
Flexibility to work on any shift
Team player and self-starter; strong interpersonal skills and ability to build working relationships with cross-functional teams
Basic computer skills
Successful candidates will be required to successfully pass drug screening and background checks.

Nice To Haves

Welding and ability to fabricate machine parts from drawings for equipment repairs
Capable of performing replacement drive installations
Ability to understand and complete Auto CAD drawings a plus
Sound Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) knowledge; ability to troubleshoot, create and modify programs

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on AC/DC motors, pumps, sumps, gearboxes, hydraulic units, analog/digital drives, lift trucks, machinery, and industrial equipment.
Disassemble equipment, recommend replacement parts, and reassemble equipment, making sound judgments on when to replace parts.
Work with hydraulics and pneumatics, understanding fluid power.
Fabricate machine parts from drawings for equipment repairs (welding preferred).
Use measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, etc.) and electrical equipment (amp meter, ohmmeter, megger, voltmeter, and other basic electrical tools).
Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, ladder logic, and electrical specifications.
Install single and three-phase wiring, demonstrating a working knowledge of electrical standards and codes.
Troubleshoot AC, DC, and variable frequency drives to determine the root cause of malfunctions.
Troubleshoot, create, and modify Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) programs (preferred).
Perform replacement drive installations.
Understand and complete Auto CAD drawings (a plus).
Understand Reliability Principles and Knowledge of Predictive Technology and Measures.
Participate in Failure Reporting and Root Cause Analysis.
Other duties as assigned.
