About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is a multi-skilled, multi-craft technician who works under limited supervision and independently uses judgment to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and building systems. The role supports safe and reliable operations, product quality, on-time delivery, yield, and reduced equipment downtime and repair costs. The position also contributes to continuous improvement, corrective actions, housekeeping, and the company’s Zero Harm and Zero Defects commitment.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Attain the ACT WorkKeys Assessment at the certified job profile skill level.
At least 1 year of industrial maintenance experience, or a combination of a technical school degree, craft certification, or completed maintenance skills/craft courses and industrial maintenance experience.
Good working knowledge of MS Office applications.
Good communication skills.
Working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Software.
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Ability to perform routine equipment maintenance and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
Ability to repair machines and systems using the necessary tools.
Ability to troubleshoot operating errors, determine causes, and decide on actions.
Ability to use logic and reasoning to assess alternative solutions and approaches to problems.
Ability to determine the tools and equipment needed to perform work.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including frequently lifting or moving up to 50 pounds; standing or walking for extended periods; using hands and fingers; and bending, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, reaching, crawling, climbing, and balancing.
Ability to work in an industrial environment with machinery, potential exposure to hazardous energy, chemicals, fumes, noise, and extreme temperatures, while using required PPE.
Ability to work scheduled shifts that may vary to support a 24x7 operation; overtime, weekends, holidays, and on-call support may be required.

Nice To Haves

Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance or a technical school degree.
Five or more years of experience in industrial maintenance, electrical, mechanical, machinist, or related fields.
Working knowledge of drawing software such as AutoCAD.
Proficiency in reading blueprints and designing and fabricating parts.
Experience diagnosing and repairing Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and/or robotics.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive and predictive maintenance, including inspecting drives, motors, and belts; checking fluid levels; and replacing filters.
Diagnose mechanical problems and determine repairs, consulting blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as needed.
Repair machines, equipment, and building systems using precision measuring instruments and electrical or electronic testing devices.
Install and repair electrical apparatus, transformers, wiring, and electrical or electronic components of machinery and equipment.
Access and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools, or power tools.
Support die maintenance and troubleshoot roll-forming equipment.
Install, program, and repair automated machinery and equipment, including robots and programmable controllers.
Set up and operate machine tools, including lathes, grinders, drills, and milling machines, to repair or fabricate parts, jigs, fixtures, and tools; operate cutting torches or welding equipment.
Participate in continuous improvement and corrective action activities.
Perform housekeeping, 5-S, and other duties as assigned.
Support safety and hazard reporting, maintain attendance and productivity, track work orders, and maintain equipment to support quality, on-time delivery, yield, and lower downtime and conversion costs.
