About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment used in production and related services. This role involves diagnosing machine malfunctions, performing repairs and adjustments to ensure continuous production, and overhauling components. The technician will also be involved in the installation and relocation of equipment, as well as performing maintenance on buildings, facilities, and grounds. A key aspect of this role is preventive maintenance on HVAC units and maintaining required maintenance logs. The technician must be able to respond to urgent maintenance issues, including being on call as part of a rotation. Additionally, they will manage third-party vendors for troubleshooting and preventative maintenance, follow Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and collaborate effectively with team members to achieve business goals.

Requirements

  • Skilled in filing and aligning bearings, spindles, and shafts.
  • Ability to adjust feed and limit mechanisms, gibs, and ways.
  • Proficiency in dismantling, erection, leveling, fitting, and aligning operations for machine installation and relocation.
  • Ability to maintain required maintenance logs and files.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance on HVAC units.
  • Ability to respond to urgent maintenance issues and troubleshoot problems.
  • Willingness to be on call as part of a rotation.
  • Ability to maintain and utilize 3rd party vendors.
  • Understanding of Standard Operating Procedure (SSOP) guidelines.
  • Knowledge of GMPs for cleaning and sanitation.
  • Ability to work well with a variety of personalities and individuals.
  • Ability to participate in a professional manner to accomplish business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, rebuild, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment.
  • Diagnose machine malfunctions and operating difficulties.
  • Make repairs or adjustments to keep equipment in production.
  • Rebuild machines and overhaul troublesome components.
  • Perform skilled operations such as filing and aligning bearings, spindles, and shafts; adjust feed and limit mechanisms, gibs, and ways.
  • Perform installation and relocation of existing machines and equipment.
  • Perform maintenance on buildings, facilities, and grounds.
  • Assist to determine the nature and scope of forthcoming projects and the requirements for completion.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning units.
  • Maintain required maintenance logs and files.
  • Perform routine housekeeping activities and ensure adherence to safety procedures.
  • Respond to urgent maintenance issues causing a major deficit to production/operations.
  • Be on call as part of an on-call rotation.
  • Maintain and utilize 3rd party vendors for troubleshooting or preventative maintenance.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedure (SSOP) guidelines.
  • Clean and sanitize all equipment according to GMPs.
  • Work together well with a variety of personalities and individuals and participates in a professional manner to accomplish the business goal.
