Maintenance Technician
About The Position
Legacy is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician for a 315-unit cooperative in Lansing, Michigan. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing general maintenance and repair duties and for completing residential work orders in a timely and accurate manner. This position is also responsible for maintaining property grounds (clean up and trash removal) including mechanical and manual snow removal and requires the ability to work different shifts, including on-call and emergencies (averaging about 4 times per year), weekends, holidays, and extended hours outdoors in different weather conditions. Teamwork with the ability to work within different departments and with other staff is necessary to be successful.
Requirements
- Two or more years of experience with multi-family maintenance including basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
- Customer service attitude in all interactions with staff and residents.
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
- Must be flexible in work assignments with the ability to work occasional weekends and/or evenings required.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work as a team and independently.
- May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
