About The Position

This role involves overhauling, repairing, and testing high-speed production equipment, including ovens, packaging machines, mixers, cartoners, baggers, stuffers, and smokehouses throughout the facility. The technician will follow all safety, GMP's, and USDA guidelines, complete required paperwork daily, and understand, use, and update shop prints, specifications, and manufacturer manuals for servicing and installation of equipment and distribution systems. The position also involves determining workforce and material requirements, preparing and painting surfaces, maintaining cleanliness of work areas, using trade tools and test equipment, maintaining spare parts inventory, coordinating with Maintenance management for system lockouts/tagouts, observing and assisting outside contractors, and training new hires/transfers on maintenance and safety practices.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED
  • Prior maintenance experience in a production environment
  • Electrical ability
  • Hydraulic ability
  • Pneumatic ability
  • Welding ability
  • Must understand Drive train- Belts, pulleys, sprockets, and chain drives.
  • Must understand Basic electrical- 110 single phase and 480 & 230 v 3 phase.
  • Must understand PLC operation
  • Must understand Motor control
  • Must understand Fabrication- welding, grinding. and assembly
  • Must understand Hydraulic- motors, pumps, and valves.
  • Must understand Pneumatics- air valves and controls.

Responsibilities

  • Overhaul, repair, and test high speed production equipment which includes ovens, packaging machines, mixers, cartoners, baggers, stuffers, smoke houses, throughout the facility.
  • Follow all safety, GMP's, and USDA guidelines.
  • Can work overtime and weekends.
  • Complete required paperwork daily per Quality guidelines.
  • Understand, use and update shop prints, specifications and refer to the manufacturer manual for servicing and installation of equipment and distribution systems.
  • Determine workforce and material requirements, means and methods to be used in accomplishing work assignments and recommend changes.
  • Prepare, paint surfaces and maintain cleanliness of work areas.
  • Use tools and test equipment of the trade.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and orders parts.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance management when locking and tagging systems.
  • Perform related responsibilities as assigned.
  • Observe safety requirements.
  • Observe and assist outside contractors for compliance with ConAgra standards.
  • Train new hires/transfers regarding proper maintenance and safety practices.
  • Follow all GMP's and USDA guidelines.
  • Complete required paperwork daily per Quality guidelines.
