About The Position

A Maintenance Technician - Electrical is responsible for performing skilled electrical work including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment. This role ensures safe and reliable operation of machinery, power distribution, control systems, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) by following electrical codes, technical drawings, and company standards.

Requirements

  • Vocational or Technical training as Electrician Required.
  • 3-5 Years Relevant Experience Required.
  • Basic PLC and motor control knowledge Required
  • Skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and/or other web-based applications. May produce complex documents, perform analysis, and maintain databases.
  • Ability to comprehend and converse in English to communicate effectively with staff and customers.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written English with internal and external customers.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or related field PLC Preferred.
  • Programming Certification Preferred.
  • OSHA 10/OSHA 30 Preferred.
  • NFPA 70E Certification Preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting Preferred
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial plant environment Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues in machinery, control panels, wiring systems, and PLCs to ensure minimal downtime and reliable operation
  • Repair or replace defective wiring, equipment, and components using hand tools, power tools, and testing devices.
  • Install electrical wiring, fixtures, and control systems in accordance with electrical codes, safety regulations, and blueprints.
  • Maintain electrical systems including motors, control panels, lighting, and power distribution to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Program and modify PLCs and automated control systems to improve process efficiency and equipment functionality.
  • Document all electrical maintenance and repair activities, including parts used, time spent, and work performed, in compliance with company procedures.
