About The Position

This position will assist the Maintenance Manager in the daily operations of the maintenance, repair, and programming of production equipment and all upkeep within the SSI Foods plant. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: · Conduct testing and validation for PLC’s throughout the plant as required or recommended · Perform preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines, refrigeration systems, hydraulic systems, and forklifts/prime movers etc. · Record and report damaged, worn, or broken parts · Order and install replacement parts for machines · Identify the causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines · Prepare reports documenting work performed · Coordinate with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines · Collaborate with management regarding new products being added and modifications that will be required · Make necessary modifications and implements tests runs; confers with product manager regarding test results and makes additional alterations to machinery as required · Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Ability to operate and/or test specified equipment
  • Ability to diagnose PLC problems, program and repair the PLC
  • Ability to design and build using fabrication equipment and welding
  • Three years working in a food processing/manufacturing environment required
  • Three to five years experience working on PLC operated equipment required

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • BS/BA degree in computers or electronics preferred
  • Ammonia refrigeration experience preferred
  • Completion of on-the-job training may be substituted for educational requirements
