About The Position

This position involves performing a wide variety of skilled maintenance work on converting, printing, and extruding equipment, as well as other ancillary equipment. It also includes general repairs to the building and grounds. Key aspects include strong analytical skills, the ability to source external resources for problem resolution, and expertise in troubleshooting and repairing electrical/electronic and mechanical issues. Responsibilities extend to repairing and replacing faulty components, installing new machinery, performing preventive maintenance, and managing parts and supplies inventories. The role is crucial for supporting the plant by maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and modifying mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical equipment, including PLC, DCS, and multiple systems.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, or GED equivalent
  • Prior experience in a Machine repair and maintenance Department, or technically oriented position desired.
  • Welding/Fabricating.
  • Machining, Lathes, and Mills.
  • Understanding of machine control systems, and electrical schematics.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Use Office software and enter work orders in our CMMS software.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.

Responsibilities

  • Emphasis on good safe work practices and familiarity with safety procedures.
  • Solid communication skills the ability to work well with others.
  • Good analytical skills set and a sense of urgency when it comes to completing work.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic systems and control circuits.
  • Ability to solve mechanical problems, repair and replace faulty components or parts, install new machines and equipment, perform Preventive Maintenance on equipment, maintain parts and supplies inventories.
  • Perform reactionary maintenance (i.e., repair machines, equipment, etc., when required, as such goes down).
  • Preventive maintenance can carry out tasks and responsibilities associated with maintenance of equipment, building and grounds, etc.
  • Plan and carry out tasks and responsibilities associated with special projects on existing or new equipment or facilities.
  • Assumes responsibility for managing projects assigned.
  • Sources products and materials and obtains pricing for maintenance purchases.
  • Accountable for parts inventories relative to own needs and replenishing.
  • Perform most types of tool & die and fixture jobs.
  • Miscellaneous duties, projects and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Works well within a small team to solve collective problems.
  • Proactively reaches out across departments to collaborate.
  • Encourages teamwork with all department and/or facility members.
  • Communicates well with fellow department and/or facility members.
  • Accept training readily, quickly understand new concepts.
  • Shows willingness to offer training to fellow department members.
  • Performs a task with limited supervision and may require that you provide guidance to fellow employees.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work on a team to achieve departmental results.
