About The Position

This position involves performing a wide variety of skilled maintenance work on converting, printing, and extruding equipment, as well as other ancillary equipment. It also includes general repairs to the building and grounds. The role emphasizes strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic and mechanical problems, including those related to PLC, DCS, and multiple systems. Responsibilities extend to repairing and replacing faulty components, installing new machinery, performing preventive maintenance, and managing parts and supplies inventories. The Maintenance Technician will be a key support for the plant's operational continuity.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, or GED equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a Machine repair and maintenance Department, or technically oriented position desired.
  • Welding/Fabricating skills.
  • Machining, Lathes, and Mills skills.
  • Understanding of machine control systems, and electrical schematics.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to use Office software and enter work orders in CMMS software.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
  • Emphasis on good safe work practices and familiarity with safety procedures.
  • Solid communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
  • Good analytical skills set and a sense of urgency when it comes to completing work.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide variety of skilled maintenance work on converting, printing, and extruding equipment, and various other ancillary equipment.
  • Perform general repairs to building and grounds.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic and mechanical problems.
  • Repair and replace faulty components or parts.
  • Install new machines and equipment.
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance on equipment.
  • Maintain parts and supplies inventories.
  • Support the plant by maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and modifying mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical equipment, including PLC, DCS and multiple systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic systems and control circuits.
  • Solve mechanical problems.
  • Perform reactionary maintenance (repair machines, equipment, etc., when required).
  • Carry out tasks and responsibilities associated with maintenance of equipment, building and grounds.
  • Plan and carry out tasks and responsibilities associated with special projects on existing or new equipment or facilities.
  • Manage projects assigned.
  • Source products and materials and obtain pricing for maintenance purchases.
  • Be accountable for parts inventories relative to own needs and replenishing.
  • Perform most types of tool & die and fixture jobs.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties, projects and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Work well within a small team to solve collective problems.
  • Proactively reach out across departments to collaborate.
  • Encourage teamwork with all department and/or facility members.
  • Communicate well with fellow department and/or facility members.
  • Accept training readily and quickly understand new concepts.
  • Show willingness to offer training to fellow department members.
