About The Position

This role is for a Maintenance Technician responsible for the maintenance of injection and compression molding machines. The technician will work alongside a team to ensure production efficiency by clearing jams, performing minor repairs and adjustments, and diagnosing mechanical and quality issues. The position requires the ability to restore malfunctioning equipment to service with minimal delay and to independently adjust machinery to maintain efficiency and minimize non-conformances. Monitoring material levels and minimizing scrap and downtime during color changes are also key responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Strong mechanical abilities and experience, such as proven auto/truck mechanics.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair engine problems.
  • General ability to learn anything requiring solid mechanical abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
  • Must possess attention to detail and be able to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with injection/compression molding would be a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside a team of seasoned Maintenance Technicians to provide guidance, training and assistance when needed.
  • Responsible for injection and compression molding machine maintenance for the shift production team.
  • Clear and resolve jams on lines, restart lines and perform minor repairs and adjustments to ensure operational efficiency throughout the 12-hour shift.
  • Perform maintenance on hydraulics systems, basic electric systems, and conveyor systems.
  • Properly diagnose mechanical and quality problems, determine the necessary repairs, and restore malfunctioning equipment back to service with minimum delay.
  • Recognize, react to, and adjust machinery independently when needed to maintain proper machine efficiencies and minimize non-conformances.
  • Monitor materials to ensure correct amounts are available throughout the shift.
  • Responsible for minimization of scrap produced and machine downtime in color changes.
