About The Position

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, emergency/breakdown maintenance, and various repairs and installations. This role involves referencing technical literature, working with vendors, maintaining organized work areas, preparing maintenance records, troubleshooting, and collaborating with team members. The position also requires willingness to work varied hours, be on call for emergencies, and maintain compliance with company quality systems.

Requirements

  • 2 years of related mechanical experience working in an industrial manufacturing production environment required.
  • Experience/knowledge in the following areas: Electrical circuit troubleshooting, PLC, Electronics, ARC flash, plumbing, steam and boiler, pneumatics, confined space, mobile equipment, some welding.
  • Ability to adapt to change.
  • Ability to problem solve and prioritize work.
  • Ability to bend, squat and kneel, and climb frequently.
  • Ability to stand for periods of a minimum of 3 hours.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to work varied hours/days.
  • Ability to lift average weighted materials, 50 lbs. up to 70 lbs. occasionally.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints mechanical and electrical schematics, piping diagrams, in orthographic, isometric, and sketch-views.
  • Candidates must successfully complete a skilled trades non-technical and technical test performed by employer.

Nice To Haves

  • High School diploma or state registered GED preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Following all safety rules and practices
  • Performing preventive maintenance activities such as lubricating, measuring wear, measuring positions, repositioning components; and observing operations, vibrations, and noise levels
  • Performing emergency/break down maintenance as necessary to support plant operations
  • Referencing equipment manuals and other technical literature
  • Contacting and working with vendors and subcontractors to achieve desired results
  • Performing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, hot glue system, and other repairs and installations as needed
  • Maintaining clean and organized work areas, and cleaning up work areas as part of completing assigned tasks
  • Accurately and completely preparing and maintaining maintenance records and other paperwork
  • Trouble-shooting and solving problems
  • Maintaining teamwork with other associates
  • Willingness to work weekends, Holidays and fills when needed
  • Willingness to be on call for facility emergencies and maintenance needs
  • Keeping supervisor informed of problems and/or unusual situations
  • Maintain compliance with company quality systems and support audits
  • Basic design and fabrication of repairs and process improvements
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervision
