Our Rochester, MN location is part of our Applied Health and Nutrition Division, specializing in fermented ingredients for the bio-science industry. As a Maintenance Technician, you will work with the maintenance manager to complete building repairs, equipment installation, troubleshooting and installation, fulfillment of assigned work orders and unforeseen repairs in a timely fashion. You’ll follow good manufacturing practices to maintain inventory, complete preventative maintenance, good housekeeping and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental laws and regulations. Attention to detail is necessary for completing inventory and shift notes. We strongly believe in “Safety First, Quality Always” for our employees, products, and customers. We are looking for someone who is able to work independently to complete a designated list of tasks and that is also able to effectively communicate with a team. Requirements

  • Must have High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years’ experience required.
  • Mechanical repair, general welding, ability to use hand tools, hand-held power tools, and basic computer skills.
  • Must have the ability to work alone and in close cooperation with production personnel and be capable of working through complex problems alone or with others to provide logical solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • State of Minnesota First or Second Class B Boiler license desired.
  • BUM/FAST program (or equivalent) highly desired.
  • Prior experience in a food manufacturing facility preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearing, gears, and other parts of machinery
  • Troubleshoot and repair machinery such as extruders, mixers, conveyors, and metal detectors
  • Install and maintain pipe systems, hydraulic steam, pneumatic equipment
  • Repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and other related equipment
  • Building maintenance including minor plumbing, welding, and general upkeep
  • Repair and assess electrical issues as they arise
  • Complete building repairs, equipment installation, troubleshooting and installation, fulfillment of assigned work orders and unforeseen repairs in a timely fashion.
  • Follow good manufacturing practices to maintain inventory, complete preventative maintenance, good housekeeping and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental laws and regulations.
  • Complete inventory and shift notes.
