About The Position

The Maintenance Technician's primary responsibility is to ensure that equipment is safely operating and meets its intended use, optimizing equipment up-time. The purpose of the Maintenance Mechanic is to make scheduled and unscheduled repairs on all machines and related equipment used in manufacturing, as well as maintaining all building systems.

Requirements

• Capability of reading blueprints pertaining to hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, molding machines, and auxiliary equipment.
• Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing electrical, hydraulic, mechanical.
• Experience in operating various hand tools and machining equipment.
• Continually demonstrates excellent time management skills, works extra hours as required to complete pending repairs.
• Need to possess basic tools to perform the job.
• Ability to use hand tools.
• Ability to read applicable instructions.

Nice To Haves

• 3-5 years of maintenance experience in a plastic injection molding environment.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing injection molding equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain production and facility equipment to include installation, set up, preventative maintenance, and adjustments required by technical service instructions.
• Safely troubleshoot, perform repairs, and execute all preventive maintenance tasks.
• Inspect and test equipment to detect causes of malfunctions on hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatics.
• Dismantle machinery and equipment to gain access and perform diagnoses.
• Remove and replace worn or defective parts.
• Repair/replace hoses, wiring, valves, etc., reassemble and verify proper function.
• Coordinate and schedule PM or repairs with production scheduler.
• Maintain, document, and constantly improve preventive/predictive maintenance functions.
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping regarding work areas.
• Follow all safety precautions on equipment, machinery and tools repairs per OSHA and complete all tasks or assignments as requested.
• Willing to participate in continuing education programs and seminars.
• Perform other related duties and job assignments as required.
• Coordinate and maintain all job responsibilities in a continuous and flexible manner.
