About The Position

Responsible for performing skilled industrial and facility painting and surface preparation work to maintain plant appearance, safety, and compliance. Duties include interior and exterior painting, surface repair, coating application, and minor facility maintenance tasks in support of the utilities department.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED
  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience; basic electrical work.
  • 2+ years of commercial, industrial, or facility painting experience preferred.
  • Experience working in manufacturing or food processing environments a plus.
  • Safety Awareness – Demonstrates use of safe and proper work methods and follows established safety procedures. Reports and corrects working conditions that may increase risk factors for injury.
  • Technical Skills/Knowledge – Has necessary experience, skills, and knowledge to perform all aspects of job; rotates through all job responsibilities. Maintains knowledge and skills to perform job effectively.
  • Good Manufacturing Practices/Food Safety – Demonstrates Good Manufacturing Practices and proper Food Safety procedures when performing daily job functions. Correctly wears required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas. Recognizes areas for GMP and Food Safety procedure improvements and shares ideas with leadership.

  • Trade School training or apprenticeship in painting or industrial coatings preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform interior and exterior painting of plant facilities, offices, equipment, and structures.
  • Prepare surfaces by scraping, sanding, patching, priming, caulking, and cleaning.
  • Apply paints, epoxies, coatings, and finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
  • Perform minor drywall, concrete, and surface repairs related to painting projects.
  • Perform painting, plumbing, iron working, carpentry, concrete and basic electrical work.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Follow all safety procedures related to ladders, lifts, ventilation, and chemical handling.
  • Comply with food safety, GMP, and sanitation requirements when working in production areas.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and paint storage areas in a clean and organized manner.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs around Campus.
  • Performs scheduled preventative maintenance.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
