Properties Maintenance Technician / Painter
About The Position
The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Technician – Painter will be to maintain SSBCC buildings and equipment to the highest possible standard of excellence. This role involves protecting exterior and interior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures of buildings and structures throughout the Shocco Springs facility. The position also includes assisting with general maintenance and facility repairs, performing preventative maintenance tasks, and helping to maintain an organized inventory of maintenance supplies. A key aspect of this role is promoting and ensuring a safe working environment in compliance with OSHA standards.
Requirements
- Knowledge of equipment, materials, methods, practices, and tools used in painting and drywall trade.
- Ability to properly apply paints and hang, finish, and repair drywall.
- Ability to fill nail holes, cracks, and joints with putty, plaster, or other filler.
- Ability to tape, float, and texture walls and ceilings.
- Ability to paint surfaces using brushes, spray gun, or paint rollers.
- Ability to stain, seal, and varnish wood surfaces.
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Ability to communicate (auditory, verbal and written) adeptly with guests, program personnel and employees.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks and details.
- Ability to perform assigned duties in a pleasant and competent manner.
- Frequent walking, standing, climbing, heavy lifting and carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
- Ability to operate hand and power tools and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
- Ability to drive company vehicles.
- Ability to abstain from the use of alcoholic beverages and controlled substances.

Responsibilities
- Provide necessary skills to protect exterior and interior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures of buildings and structures.
- Assist with the maintenance and facility repairs as assigned.
- Perform assigned preventative maintenance tasks as outlined in the Preventative Maintenance Manual.
- Assist in maintaining an organized and adequate inventory of maintenance related items (electrical, plumbing, paint & paint supplies, drywall supplies, filters, etc.).
- Promote and ensure a safe working environment in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Graffiti removal from the interior and exterior of buildings.
- Erect scaffolding or set up ladders to perform tasks above ground level.
- Accept miscellaneous assignments as agreed upon with the supervisor.
