Requirements

  • Post-secondary education - Maintenance Millwright (433A)
  • Current license for Skyjack, Fall Arrest, Forklift
  • 2-3 years’ experience in industrial maintenance or mechanic role, preferably within the food industry
  • Experience reading blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings in an industrial environment
  • Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and perform maintenance on various pieces of equipment
  • Ability to work at heights and within confined spaces
  • Knowledge and understanding in the functions of welding processes and equipment, drill press, grinders, hand and power tools, impact guns, bench grinders, and band saws
  • Knowledge and ability to operate various production equipment such as weighers, baggers, conveyors and related pieces of equipment
  • Positive attitude and ability to problem-solve and multi-task
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations
  • Ability to lift to 50lbs repetitively and stand on feet for majority of the working day
  • Flexibility and willingness to work overtime as required and willingness to work varied shifts which may include evenings and weekends

Nice To Haves

  • Current CWB license/ticket (SMAW, GMAW/MIG, GTAW/TIG)
  • Experience with PLC programming

Responsibilities

  • Execute preventative maintenance program as per schedule on all equipment, building and machinery.
  • Conduct diagnostic checks, troubleshooting, and repair for all equipment, plant wide (mechanical, pneumatic, and programmable logic controllers).
  • Install, align, take apart and move industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces, generators according to layout plans using hand and power tools.
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery as required.
  • Operate welding equipment, hand tools, and power tools as required.
  • Perform general building maintenance.
  • Report on all health and safety risks to Maintenance Manager.
  • Work in a safe manner in accordance with all company policies and procedures as well as occupational health and safety laws.
  • Other responsibilities as required by the Maintenance Manager.
