About The Position

Safran Aircraft Engines designs, produces, and sells, alone or in partnership, commercial and military aircraft engines offering world-class performance. Through CFM International, Safran Aircraft Engines is the world's leading supplier of engines for single-aisle mainline commercial jets. Safran Aerospace Composites in Rochester, NH is dedicated to the production of 3D woven composite parts, made using the RTM (resin transfer molding) process. The first application of this technology is the production of blades and fan cases for the LEAP (registered trademark) engine, developed by CFM International, designed to power the next generation of single-aisle aircraft. This technology creates less noise and decreases fuel consumption for aircraft engines, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The Maintenance Technician - Mechanical is responsible for safe, quality, and timely repair and preventive maintenance of various types of industrial equipment, including but not limited to CNC machines, CMM machines, paint booth equipment, Tomograph equipment, UT equipment, and automated sandblaster equipment. A Level II Technician must work well both with others and independently to minimize downtime on production equipment in a fast-paced environment. This is a second shift position, Monday – Thursday, 3:15pm – 1:15am, and includes a 10% shift differential

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 10+ years of related experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong computer background to be able to assist OEMs in online machine diagnostics.
  • Required: Capable machining skills
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and Outlook

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CNC machine maintenance and alignment preferred
  • Industrial lift experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform emergency and routine repairs and preventive maintenance of a, generally, mechanical nature to maintain manufacturing and facility equipment and minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Install and modify process equipment to engineering specifications.
  • Perform diagnostics, project work, and other improvement activities in coordination with stakeholders on other teams (Production, Engineering, Quality, etc.).
  • Comply and maintain certifications, where applicable, with all regulations (OSHA, NFPA), industry standards, engineering specifications, and company policies/procedures.
  • Perform mechanical-related repairs including, but not limited to, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of equipment.
  • Proficiently fabricate metal pieces, parts, and structures using cutting equipment, welding equipment, and machine tools-with or without prints.
  • Use calibration equipment to validate tool and machine conformance to standards.
  • Apply working knowledge of controls systems to troubleshoot minor machine issues, reset or change machine parameters, and manipulate robots with teach pendants.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
