About The Position

Anderson Bakery, a Kroger Company, located in Anderson, South Carolina, is seeking a Maintenance Technician - Mechanic for its 2nd and 3rd shifts. The facility produces bread, muffins, and rolls for Kroger grocery stores in the southeast. The bakery has experienced significant improvements in process reliability, efficiency, and average run time under new leadership and is continuing to enhance its key plant indicators and culture. This role is crucial in supporting these improvements by performing preventative maintenance, mechanical repairs, equipment inspection and testing, building maintenance, and project work. Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.
Strong attention to detail with high degree of accuracy and precision.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Strong planning, prioritization, and organizational skills.
Ability to meet deadlines with limited supervision.
Basic computer use, knowledge and skills.
Self-motivated and self-directed; ability to organize and define tasks with minimal supervision.
Reliable and dependable.
Team player with positive attitude.
Strong sense of urgency during periods of downtime.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Proficient mechanical knowledge and skills in one or more of the following maintenance classifications: electrical, welding and fabrication, utilities, and basic PLCS.

Nice To Haves

2+ years maintenance mechanic technician experience or relevant technical training/certification.
Experience in food manufacturing.
Knowledgeable in Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP).

Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems in the facility.
Set up and use machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill press and milling machine to repair or fabricate parts.
Troubleshoot issues and repair failures of production and facility equipment to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
Complete assigned work orders and unplanned/emergency tasks as required.
Maintain maintenance area in a clean and orderly fashion.
Utilize maintenance systems as necessary to complete daily, weekly, monthly duties.
Operate material handling equipment safely.
Document work order information/completion.
Provide support to team in the predictive and preventative maintenance program.
Participate and actively support all plant initiatives such as minimizing or eliminating downtime and ensuring plant optimization.
Perform duties accurately and safely in a fast-paced environment.
Follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements.
Accountable to the Kroger Manufacturing Food Safety and Quality Principles.
