About The Position

This role is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks on plant facilities, equipment, and machinery. This includes welding, preventative maintenance, electrical and plumbing work, carpentry, and general building upkeep. The technician will also be responsible for diagnosing mechanical problems, inspecting equipment, and managing spare parts inventory. A strong emphasis is placed on safety, environmental protection, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Proficient with MIG, TIG, Stick, cutting torches, grinders, drills, and working with metal, pipe, and flat iron.
• Experience with pumps, gearboxes, augers, grinders, mixers, conveyors, filling machines and sealers.
• Ability to assemble, install and/or repair electrical on three phase and single phase circuitry.
• Ability to perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
• Ability to inspect, operate, and test plant facilities, equipment, and machinery.
• Ability to procure and maintain an optimum inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies.
• Ability to be fit tested and don a mask.
• Reliable presence and promptness on premises.
• Ability to communicate with Supervisors, Associates, and Contractors for work projects.
• Project management including task sequencing, resource management, scheduling.
• Specialty Skills such as welding, carpentry, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, etc.
• Researching information Decision-making and problem-solving.
• Performing general physical activities, handling and moving objects.
• Able to work well with other and organize own activities.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding fabrication including layout and design, and repair of mild steel, stainless steel and aluminum.
• Perform regular preventative maintenance and emergency/unscheduled repairs on plant facilities, equipment, and machinery.
• Assemble, install and/or repair electrical on three phase and single phase circuitry.
• Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
• Replace or repair defective equipment and parts.
• Perform minor building repair and upkeep.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
• Inspect, operate, and test plant facilities, equipment, and machinery.
• Procure and maintain an optimum inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies adequately organized in storage.
• Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
