About The Position

Cardinal LG, a laminated glass manufacturer in Jessup, is looking for a Lead 2nd shift Maintenance Technician who is dependable, has a positive attitude, and works effectively in a team environment. The Lead Maintenance Technician serves as a working leader, partnering with production to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The work will include maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing production and facilities equipment.

Requirements

Technical 2-year degree or a minimum of 2 years of verifiable industrial work.
Previous manufacturing experience required.
Work on 3 phase 480VAC electrical equipment along with 240Vac, 120Vac and low voltage DC instrumentation.
PLC controlled equipment.
Mechanical work will be on pneumatic, some hydraulics and multiple chain drives and gearboxes.
Strong working knowledge of electrical systems, mechanical systems, industrial troubleshooting and repairs.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
Must be able to bend, twist, squat, kneel or stand for long periods of time
Ability to communicate effectively and safely perform work in an industrial environment.

Demonstrating leadership or technician experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing production and facilities equipment.
Ensure preventative maintenance activities are completed on schedule and documented appropriately.
Assist with facility maintenance projects and capital improvement initiatives.
Monitor equipment condition and recommend repairs, upgrades, or replacements as needed.
Mentor, coach, and train team members on maintenance procedures, troubleshooting techniques, and equipment operation.
Promote and maintain a safe work environment by identifying hazards, correcting unsafe conditions, and ensuring compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
