Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent.
  • At least two years of related technical training.
  • Three years of on-the-job-related experience.
  • Must have a Second Class C or higher Boiler License.
  • At least three years of recent related manufacturing maintenance experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Strong working knowledge of materials, methods, and practices used in electronic and manufacturing maintenance operations, including reading blueprints and schematics.
  • Strong working knowledge of related safety requirements, including proper use of safety equipment and precautions.
  • Ability to organize and perform complex manufacturing maintenance activities.
  • Ability to operate general office equipment, including maintenance-related applications on a microcomputer.
  • Ability to understand, follow, and issue routine oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to establish and maintain organized training procedures, including training, encouragement, direction, and involvement.
  • Ability to build and encourage sound work ethics and independence among new maintenance staff.

Responsibilities

  • Train employees on proper equipment operation procedures and respond to questions.
  • Maintain plant and building equipment through periodic inspections and cleaning.
  • Repair equipment as necessary, including responding to emergency work orders.
  • Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine repair problems.
  • Utilize continuous process improvements to enhance preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Assist in fabricating equipment, including associated welding, cutting, and drilling activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment repairs.
  • Submit timely progress reports on maintenance projects and update relevant individuals and departments.
  • Replace machine parts as part of repair projects.
  • Consult with Maintenance Supervisor and other personnel on maintenance and repair projects.
  • Participate in other organized activities, committees, etc. within BTD.
